Opening performance by Jonathan Gean
Gean makes an improvisational sound piece interacting with the noise from the construction area of WTC. This experimental noise sound piece is mixed into the ambient noise, thus it seems to be disappearing in the air around Ground Zero.
**
Gean uses Max/MSP/Jitter. The video and sound are assembled from various recording from the performance and some sound is intentionally edited out of sync with the video. Edited by Jiyoon Koo

Dear friends, artists, art collectors and anyone else who may be interested in supporting projects by young artists:
I am curating two site-specific art exhibitions: Ghosting I & Ghosting II.
Ghosting I is a one-day show in the form of a guided tour around Ground Zero. I will ask tourists visiting the GZ area to be participants in this exhibition. The participating tourists will document hidden artworks in the area. Later on, the documentation of these hidden artworks will appear in a continuation of this exhibition, Ghosting II, which will take place in a suite at the World Center Hotel near GZ.
The artists contributing to Ghosting I are Allan Bailey, Alex Jovanovich, David Horvitz, Hiroshi Sunari, Jiyoon Koo, LNY, Sonja Engelhardt, Soyo Lee and Taeyoon Choi.
In order to reserve the hotel room for one night, I need to pay $350.00 for the reservation and $50.00 for opening night expenses.
So as a part of this project, I want to sell one of my pieces: Sinking Ship (painting, 2010), Dionysia in Ground Zero (painting, 2009) or Anti-Climax (drawing, 2011).
Originally, the painting Sinking Ship was priced at $1,500.00, and the drawing Anti-Climax was priced at $1,300.00—both works were in my solo show at A.I.R. Gallery.
Dionysia in Ground Zero was priced at $1,000.00, and appeared as a part of a three-person exhibition at Doosan Gallery. For the Ghosting projects, I intend to greatly reduce these prices—$400.00 for each work—to cover the necessary costs for the second exhibit.
If you would like to be a supporter of this project—as well as a supporter of emerging artists and challenging exhibitions—please contact me by June 23.
Attached is information about these exhibitions and the artworks for sale.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Jiyoon Koo
